I Only Feel Right On My Knees (PG13)

Title I Only Feel Right on My Knees
Author Brutti ma buoni
Rating PG13 *but* looks at Spuffy through criminal investigation goggles, so could be triggery re assault and/or overt references to necrophilia
Words 300
Prompt Crime Scene
Setting season six
A/N Title from Who Are You, written by Pete Townshend, for maximum CSI Bonus points…

Reconstructing, you can see where it began. There are the first signs: an overturned chair, the beer bottle that fell but didn't shatter, spilling malty brew over the cold stone floor.

Then come further signs, a leather coat, roughly shed on the floor, grit across its shoulders as though its owner were slammed against a wall, grinding there, tight and enclosed, no space to escape.

And here, the trail leads the investigator on. Daintier clothing here, definitely female, from a small figure. A clinging top, small and crumpled into insignificance. A bra, thrown with some force. A skirt, short and swingy, splayed and spread in a way that speaks of abandon.

Male garments too, jeans turned inside out with the force of their discarding, another shirt which probably fits with them, black and smudged like the duster before them. Is there blood on the interior, where its owner's skin was ground against the fabric? Probably, but in the darkness of setting and dyed cloth, only science could confirm it.

More underwear, socks, boots, incoherently entangled. You're getting to the heart of the scene of the crime now. Soon, you'll know what you're up against.

Here, finally, something more concrete. A dead body, legs splayed, arms high above its head. And a living body, female, astraddle the corpse, holding down the dead hands, riding the dead man (for it is he). Both gasping, both giving those sounds of encouragement that mean mutual satisfaction is close, and each wants the other to know it.

It's unnatural. It's wrong. But is it a crime?

Uh. Technically, probably, but this is a consenting corpse. So law enforcement turns its face away. No need for forensic investigators. You can keep your sterile overalls and evidence bags. This is no place for CSI.

Brilliant! The idea of CSI approch for Buffy and Spike clothes and their body during sex is really original. I love it!

Well done! Very well done. And you are right Buffy and CSI don't fit.

Heh. So many things in the Buffy verse were technically illegal, without the legality ever being the point.

Lovely, dramatic pan from doorway to bedroom.

:-D Disturbing on the surface, certainly.

But underneath the surface, I think rather reassuring. Because it means one doesn't decide who each of them ought to be in bed with. And that they DO.

I always wondered what a forensics lab would make of vampire blood - whether it would be whatever the vampire had been drinking lately, or (my own theory) that it would be the huamn blood type of the original body, just, you know, dead. *g*

Absolutely, and I don't watch CSI (except that I do watch Bones, so that counts I guess. *shakes fist at S5*) What's nifty though is how it seems like we're following an objective record of a "trail of evidence" and yet you pack so much psychological insight into it - so much human (living and undead) frailty.

How did I miss this? Love it - particularly but this is a consenting corpse. - though "demanding" would be more accurate. ;-)

Haha this is brilliant! Love suddent change in tone at the end, as well as the fact our narrator has no qualms watching two people having sex in front of him/her. Well, one person as a corpse, techinically - only a CSI detective would point that out with such scientific matter of factness. Great writing! :)
