If I Could Turn Back Time...
“Anything I want, huh?”
“Anything time-related,” the demon repeated with a sigh.
“I want to go back to the night Willow did her “my will be done spell”.
“You want to be under a spell?”
“No. I want to be me. But I want to be me just when she broke the spell.”
“Whatever. Here you go.” She snapped her fingers.
“Hi there, come here often?”
“Slayer breath!” Spike snarled and pulled back from her face.
“That’s rude. I thought you liked kissing me?”
“Well that was when I — wait, are you saying you want to keep kissing?”
“That’s what I was thinking, yes, but if you don’t want to....”
Fully aware, from conversations much later in their relationship, that Spike had wanted nothing more than to stay in the tomb making out with her, Buffy pretended to push herself off his body. Said body was doing nothing to back up his story if he was going to insist on pretending to be grossed out.... Just in case, she gave a little wriggle against him, smiling when his eyes rolled back in his head.
When she couldn’t help a giggle, his gaze snapped back to her face and he narrowed his eyes.
“What’s this then, Slayer? Having a little fun at harmless old Spike’s expense now that the spell is over? Well, forget it. I may not have much left, but I’ve got my pride. Take your dick-teasing somewhere else.”
Stung, Buffy rolled off and glared at him. “No wonder I hated you!” she said, standing up and dusting herself off. “This was a waste of a perfectly good wish!”
“B-Buffy? Are you okay? I broke the spell. You should be fine now. No more Spike marriage or... or ... anything.”
“I’m fine, Willow. Just go back to Giles’ and bake your ‘I’m sorry’ cookies.” She waved her hand to shoo everyone out of the room. “We’ll be there later. Save us – me some cookies.”
“How did you know I—“ Willow broke off as Xander tugged on her arm, urging her to get out of there and to explain to Giles how she didn’t have anything to do with what happened.
Turning her attention back to Spike who was sitting up and staring at her with growing understanding, Buffy blushed and looked away.
“Think you’ve got some explaining to do, Slayer,” he said, leaning back on his elbows.
“I’m not the one who said... what you said. You should be groveling for forgiveness.”
“Don’t do grovel very well, and you’re changing the subject.”
“I am not! The subject is that you are a disgusting pig and I should have known that and never—” She froze, panic obvious.
“And there it is again. That’s twice you’ve talked like this is somehow past tense... and yet, here we are, all present and in the moment.” He gazed at her, one eyebrow raised. “I can see right through you, Slayer. What are you hiding from me? You hated me? Past tense? You should have known? And you wasted a wish?”
Buffy slumped down against the wall, feet out in front of her and a sad pout on her face.
“I don’t know what to tell you. It seemed like such a good idea at the time. Like it would be fun. I didn’t think I’d have to explain anything if we just kept kissing. You told you wanted to, but when I jumped off you had to pretend....” She glanced up at him. “Were you pretending? Did you want to keep kissing me?”
“Seems like you already know that answer, luv. But I’ll be dammed if I can remember telling you so. How could I? It just happened.”
“Can’t we just go back to kissing and forget this whole conversation?”
Spike, who had no idea he was talking to the woman who would become the love of his life, thought for a second, then shrugged.
“Yeah, sure. Why not? Can’t deny what you do to me. Wouldn’t if I could. If you’ve lost your mind and want me, who am I to reject such a gift?”
In spite of their words, they just stared at each other for a few seconds from their respective places several feet apart. With matching sighs, they shook their heads simultaneously.
“Guess that mood’s been properly slain, huh, Slayer?”
“Looks like. I’m not sure which of us slayed it, but... yep. It’s pretty much gone.”
“Just pretty much?” He peered up at her from under his eyelashes. “You mean there might be a tiny bit left?”
Buffy colored and gave a small smile. “A tiny bit, maybe.” She shook her head. “I don’t even know how much time I have. I didn’t think to ask how long I can stay here.”
“Here meaning when– not where you are.”
“You’re smarter than you look,” she admitted, dropping her gaze.
“And don’t you forget it, Buffy.” Something in his voice brought her gaze flying back up to meet his twinkling eyes.
“Sp...Spike?”
“You thought you were gonna come back here and snog some other version of me?”
“But how...”
“That time demon owed me a favor. I collected once he told me what you’d done.”
“You... you cheater!” She threw herself at him, sending them both back to the same position they’d been in when the spell broke.
“We don’t know how much time we have,” he whispered as he wrapped his arms around her. “Don’t think we should waste it. Now where were we....”
“Right about...here.” Buffy raised her head and met his waiting lips with hers.

Teensy edit: You told you wanted to could be either "you told me you wanted to" OR "you said you wanted to".
