And with that, the Mortifex challenge was closed.

As the sun fell on All Hallows' Eve, Buffy and Spike and Mortifex were locked in a battle to the death. The night wore on and, eventually, the castle fell, the hordes of undead crumbling into dust. Buffy and Spike couldn't be sure quite what had happened, but, as they looked around and realised that Mortifex was nowhere to be seen, they knew they were victorious.
... Or were they?

Well, Fag Enders, what can I say? We've had an absolutely fantastic few days, and I know I'm speaking for all the mods when I thank everyone for taking part, for creating so many shiny things and leaving lots of lovely comments to let the creators know their work has been appreciated. (A certain mod aka me needs to catch up in this regard, but I think it's beyond thrilling that you've managed to outpace my capacity to read and watch - it doesn't happen often!) I know I was slightly nervous in the first few hours that no one would be inspired at all, but I think it's been a fairly resounding success, yes? So massive hooray on that front!
But how, I hear you cry, have the scores panned out in this undead killing extravaganza?? Well...
In joint fifth place with one kill each are
rahirah with her fic,
rebcake with her fic and
smells_corrupt with hers.
Then, in joint fourth place with two kills are
anviloverheaven with her fics and
gryfndor_godess with hers.
In third place is
readerjane with an impressive spree of seven ficcy kills,
While our much deserving runner up is
slaymesoftly with an even more bloody massacre of nine ficcy kills!
In first place, however, is our gunslinger extraordinaire:
brutti_ma_buoni! Littering the killing fields with a whopping nine fics, one icon set and four vids, she takes the title with a grand total of fourteen kills. (Plus a vid I've just noticed, which I'm not counting because the time stamp is 7:03, but that just goes to show that she can't stop the slaughter!) Congratumalations!!
Us modly peoples must now retire to sort out tomorrow (/go to a party), but rest assured that Fag Ends will be back for November, and we hope to see you there. Our gunslinger will be picking out our theme (and will be hearing about it shortly, don't worry), but, until then, thanks again to everyone! And normal comm rules still apply in terms of posting, so if there's anything you still have up your sleeve to post for Something Wicked This Way Comes, either in response to the Mortifex prompts or anything else this month, you can still post about it until midnight your time!
Cheers! Please tell me if I've made any mistakes.
